MSMEs’ quest for freedom
Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have made
major contributions to the economy. Sadly, most MSMEs are still in
the micro phase of their development. The MSME sector
faces some major challenges with regard to finances, resources,
and adoption of technology, to name a few, as a result of which
they cannot function efficiently and have low productivity levels.
The government and organisations, like the UN and SIDBI, have
taken measures to ease the MSMEs’ burden.
It remains to be seen how MSMEs succeed in freeing themselves from their challenges.
